Edited by: Montevius Williams on 15/07/2011 03:22:40 Edited by: Montevius Williams on 15/07/2011 03:22:23 I cant believe we are still talking about this...They are freaking glasses!!!!! They give you NO IN GAME BENEFIT! Who cares! When these glasses give me a +1 to my attack power, then ok, destroy. As it stands right now, they're glasses.
tl;dr - Allen Iverson: "We talking about practice man, NOT THE GAME, practice! Really? Practice!"

Exactly. So why was Eve development time spent on them?
On a side note: do monocles survive biomassing?
What does being able to destroy then have to do with development time? We're having two different conversations here.

Soley to **** you off.
That was the high concept of Incarna actually, so I applaud CCP.
OT: Why does it matter that they can't be destroyed. If someone's monicle is stoping you from enjoying the game, then I don't see why CCP should even try to cator to you as you clearly can't be appeased.

I hear what you are saying but thats not an accurate comparion. The celestial steed DOES give an in game benefit as its a mount. The EVE monocle is just makes you look like the Monopoly man.

We do. As you obviously care also, otherwise you wouldnt have bothered to post here.
The thing I find most interesting is how it exposes the gaps in CCP's vision of the game, how it seems to show poorly thought out game lore if nothing else. Theres obviously no answer CCP can come up with that fits otherwise they would have done so here.
CCP answer easy ones in minutes, that threads been rolling along for a while now.......
Heads up, it aint gonna go away Devs. And yes, I know you read this...YES, YOU!
We live 27,000 years in the future, I can come up with all types of Sci fi speak to explain how they can take the monocle out of you face before you dock your ship:
How about this one...they rip it out of your face and slap some Nanite repair paste on the wound.

Originally by: Montevius Williams I've always assumed that you just took them off and left them in your Captains Quarters. Seems logical. Why would yuo bring your clothes into a POD? Makes no sense. Now the monocle is a different story. If it is an implant, then it should be destroyed on podding...
Cant beat consistency eh?
GTFO
Ok??? Whats your point? The issue is this **** keeps being brought up over and over again when its not a big deal.
Yea, like I said in that post, if it is an implant go ahead and destroy it, but Im not *****ing and complaining every freaking day on the message boards becasue I cant destroy someones goddamn glass eyeball. Thats the point.
Out of all the things to complain about, this is the least important. CCP can get rid of the monocle for all I care, they can keep it indestructible as well...I really do not care either way, just stop complaining about the same **** over and over and over and over again.
Supercaps balancing = Important Lag = Importamt Gallente Ship Balance = Important Fixing Bugs = Important New Player Retention = Important Fix Mining = Important I cant destroy Mr. Moneybaggs Monocle = wtf, seriously?
As someone said on these forums not too long ago: "We're podded (some of us at least) and automatically get reborn in clone vats trillions of miles away - and you're worried about monocles and pants?"
and someone mentioned this idea in the same thread and I think it works perfectly:
" When you buy clothes or implants with NEX, this includes an agreement with the network managing you medical clones to procure and provide replacement items upon activation. Every time. Forever. Hence, why they cost so bloody damn much. High fashion is a challenge to provide for near-immortals who die ALL THE TIME.
The initial items are stored in your pod, destroyed when you are destroyed. When you are podded, YOU DO NOT RESPAWN at your target destination, you respawn at your medical clone, where they have received (along with your infomorph) the go-ahead to provide reissues of the destroyed NEX items. They do not have license to provide these to you until your pod is confirmed destroyed, which presumes your stored clothes and implants are also destroyed. This prevents devaluation of these highly exclusive brands.
Jump clones do not automatically get the NEX clothes and monocle, don't you need to purchase a set for each jump clone? I have not tested, but I got a message to that effect in-game."
27,000 years in the future - use your imagination...
